Northwood Office Leases Over 360,000 Square Feet at Ballantyne®
The Ballantyne portfolio continues to perform in 2024 with 33 new deals, renewals and expansions through the third quarter.
As Ballantyne Reimagined continues to develop, Northwood Investors LLC and its affiliates are excited to sign two new restaurant tenants for The Bowl at Ballantyne™, set to open in 2024 – Sam Fox’s North Italia and Flower Child. These restaurants will join nine other previously announced businesses, including Olde Mecklenburg Brewery, at the new mixed-use retail, dining and entertainment district in South Charlotte.
“We’re proud to bring these high-caliber concepts to South Charlotte and feel like these deals serve as big endorsements for The Bowl,” said Ward Kampf, president of Northwood Retail. “Sam Fox is a best-in-class operator. North Italia has seen great success with openings from coast to coast and Flower Child’s unique, healthy food offerings are immensely popular, including at two other locations within our portfolio.”
North Italia
Opening 2024
North Italia, a modern Italian concept known for its scratch-kitchen cuisine and signature craft cocktails, was conceived by Fox Restaurant Concepts founder Sam Fox in 2002. The 6,480-square-foot restaurant will be situated on Bowl Street directly across from Fly Kid Fly and Honeysuckle Gelato. Using only the season’s best ingredients, North Italia’s chefs create a variety of modern Italian dishes including pasta made daily from scratch, a chef’s choice daily pizza for a sure-to-please favorite and savory entrées like Squid Ink Tonnarelli and Braised Short Rib that deliver flavors above and beyond the expected.
"On the heels of opening our first Culinary Dropout in Charlotte, we are excited to continue growing our footprint in an important city for our brands,” said Fox. “We're happy to be adding locations to this energetic project, and Flower Child and North Italia are the perfect complement."
Flower Child
Opening 2024
Flower Child is a vibrant, good-for-you restaurant, and is more than your typical healthy restaurant; it is a place where you can come and fill your soul (and belly) with goodness. As a part of Fox Restaurant Concepts, the multi-location restaurant provides made-from-scratch meals catering to various lifestyles and dietary needs. Flower Child’s menu offers customizable bowls, wraps, salads, different mix-and-match veggies, grains, fruits, and healthy proteins. The restaurant’s Ballantyne location will be 3,555 square feet located across from North Italia on Bowl Street.
