Northwood is creating a greenway connection to Lower McAlpine Greenway, connecting Ballantyne to the larger Charlotte greenway system. Green space remains a critical piece of Ballantyne Reimagined, with over 100 acres planned. In 2021, Northwood converted the former golf course into Ballantyne’s Backyard community park. Ten new parks will be created, five of them the size of Romare Bearden or larger (including one 20-acre park).
